Jack grew up in the United Kingdom and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sport Development With Coaching from the University of Northumbria.

Upon completing his degree Jack worked as an ocean lifeguard in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Denmark, before he relocated to Canada in 2016 where he found a new career as a personal trainer.

Over the past six years Jack has continued his education in the pursuit of offering the most up to date knowledge to his clients.

Alongside having his own personal training business, Jack is also the head of Active Rehabilitation in Vancity Physio.

These roles combined have given Jack great experience and client success, allowing him to specialize in the following areas:

Anna

Personal Trainer / Kinesiologist

Anna has a Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree from the University of the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford, BC.

Anna is interested in using physical activity to help clients improve their quality of life. She believes that customized progressive strength programs help clients prevent or alleviate pain, thereby helping to perform a daily movement with ease. She enjoys creating a fun, inclusive, meaningful, and supportive environment.

Anna has worked with all age populations (12-82 yrs), she is passionate about clients` progress and well-being. She has extensive experience working with a wide range of clients, from athletes to injury rehabilitation, alongside clients who are just looking to feel better. Anna is comfortable working with people that may have issues such as muscular injuries, joint replacements, balance issues and spinal alignment.

She strives to help clients reach their goals by focusing on the proper technique and using research-guided exercise prescriptions.

In 2019 Chris graduated from the University of Ottawa from the Human Kinetics Program. While at UOttawa. Chris volunteered as an exercise therapist for the MS Society and became practiced in working with neurological disorders and rehabilitation programming. Since graduating, he has been working with a wide variety of clients such as those with musculoskeletal injuries, car accidents (including ICBC), and chronic pain.

Outside of work Chris loves playing all kinds of sports, cycling and enjoying the outdoors. He grew up playing hockey, soccer and volleyball, and can be found on the beach or in the parks playing volleyball all summer, and in the rinks in the winter. Chris also likes boxing and relaxing on the beach!

Hi, my name is Laura Duggan!

I am an Athletic Therapist. I am passionate about helping people to achieve their goals and live healthy, more fulfilled lives.

I specialize in rehabilitating all kinds of injuries. I do this by performing assessments, creating tailor- made exercise programs and educating clients on their rehabilitation.

I graduated in 2019 in Ireland after completing my BSc in Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy. I then gained exceptional experience working in a private physiotherapy clinic for 2 years.

I specialised in treating acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. I also helped clients with strength and conditioning programs.

In addition, I spent my time working with young athletes doing pitch-side therapy for Gaelic football and hurling games. My treatment modalities include myofascial release therapy and manual therapy.

My passion for exercise led me to further my knowledge and become a qualified personal trainer and group fitness instructor.

I decided to follow my dreams and travel to Vancouver to broaden my clinical rehab skills. Since arriving, I am working as a Kinesiologist, specializing in senior’s well-being and promoting active aging.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, dancing and skiing. I thoroughly enjoy exploring the beautiful sites of Vancouver!

I am not an athletic person by any means, but as a recreational runner, I had a goal of completing a marathon. I have also never had a personal trainer before, but I wanted to make sure that I would stay injury-free as I increased my running volume. Jack worked with me for my whole marathon training cycle, and I felt very safe and confident in his expertise. He pushed me to develop my strength and endurance in our sessions, while being very mindful of any weaknesses or pain/overwork of my body as my training progressed. He was also very encouraging and patient, and always made sure that I would perform the workouts correctly. I kept seeing improvements in my strength and fitness, and ultimately, I did complete my marathon comfortably and injury-free, and I do credit so much of that to the program that Jack had developed for me.

Jack is a fantastic trainer!!! I've been training with Jack for three months. I can obviously feel myself getting stronger, fitter and healthier. Workout used to be a stressful thing for me, and I also had lower back pain. So it's difficult for me to exercise on a consistent basis. But after I started to train here, except for the weekly personal training, Jack also helps to plan the home gym workouts according to your requests, which frees me from overthinking what kind of workout I need to do. The fitness improvements also give me more motivation to keep going to the gym.

It's definitely a fun environment for people to get training. I feel more comfortable to train here than in huge gyms. You only need to focus on yourself.

I've been training with Jack weekly for several months now and have had nothing but a positive experience!

I had a lot of nervousness going into training in general as a queer/trans person recovering from top surgery, but Jack's program has been super affirming and helpful in rebuilding my strength from surgery. I started from basically level zero, and have seen measurable progress (and can do so many pushups now!). He's really good at pushing and motivating, as well as setting up an intuitive plan for outside of sessions. This is the first time in my adult life I've consistently worked out, and felt good doing it. That's so exciting!

The space is comfortable, easy to get to and has a shiny new cable/weight machine. Definitely recommend!
